Stocking Healthy…Internet Style

Our kitchen is filled with healthy foods so that everyone has a variety of good choices. Aside from fresh fruits, veggies and meats, I purchase most of our staples through Vitacost….I LOVE them ❤  Being able to browse so many healthy options can be a bit overwhelming…there’s so much to choose from! I believe there is a natural alternative for pretty much everything…and Vitacost has all and more, even their own name brand which is of fantastic quality. If your order is over $49 they’ll ship it for free in the U.S…insured by the very best packaging I’ve ever seen…really…they are exceedingly thorough =} That neatly packed box takes just 4-5 days to arrive with all my goodies and each time, it feels like the best holiday as I unpack each item that was so carefully wrapped just for me ❤

So what’s in this box…..Let’s open and see!!

 This order contained mostly pantry restocking, but I can’t help trying something new each time I place an order. New to the box this round was the Vitacost Raw Honey (non-GMO)…also their brand of organic peanut butter…and a bag of organic dried black bean flakes by Frontier. Each of my organic herbs and spices come in one pound bulk bags to be divvied up and shared among my family and like minded friends….so much cheaper this way…I am a self-confessed chronic over-seasoner =) In this order was the best smelling basil EVER…garlic granules…ground tumeric (I’m experimenting with this one..) spinach and kelp powders ( I use in baking biscuits and tortillas…also salad sprinkle…)
Here’s a few other items that are purchased regularly….packed with love of course =)

Vitacost Hemp Seeds are not only the best priced, they taste soooo good!! These little superfood powerhouses really pack a nutritional punch in a small convenient package that blends well with everything you can think of sprinkling them over. This time, they were on sale, buy one, get the second half off………really.

Almond milk is our staple white beverage, it makes everyone happy and tastes delicious…..and it’s so good for nutritiously alkalizing our bodies….win-win.

Vitamin C vitacost style is a sweet berry flavored chewable that will provide the whole family with  immune boosting tissue regeneration and energy sparks in every cell! A serious contender in the intentional quest for excellent health.
For years, I shopped at our local healthy foods stores…don’t misunderstand, I’m all about buying local…but my primary goal is to keep my family healthy by purchasing real, organic, non-GMO whole foods. The money I’ve saved in the last 3 years with Vitacost is a definite plus, but there are other advantages such as free shipping right to my door and shopping from the comfort of my own laptop making decisions so much easier than in the store aisle! Plus…if you refer friends and family, they give you a generous $10 off their first order and $10 for yourself!!
I really hope you try them out…browse the site…use the search and find favorite items…fill your cart and bring healthy goodies right to your door.
Here’s my link to receive $10 off your first $30 order…VITACOST.
Happy shopping and cheers to your best health…..*K

A Clear Mind

rock quote

Our thoughts are living energy…whatever happens in our minds, happens in reality. The Law of Attraction….a simple yet wildly powerful shift in thinking that ultimately leads us to our destiny. Just as each person travels their own path on the journey through life…so we each have our own innate sense and passion for what we truly want, what we deserve and what we aspire for deep in our hearts. While I’m not really one for the typical New Years resolution, I do believe in clearing my mind and starting over with fresh thoughts for the new year…leaving the old ways of thinking where they belong, in the past. Sitting down with myself and my thoughts, making a list of my projects and goals for the upcoming months, evaluating how the last year has changed me and forgiving mistakes are my way of clearing the mind and making room for all the great things that are coming my way in 20*15. Replacing negative thoughts with positive opens our minds to a clearer less judgmental way of living…consciously making this a habit will bring an inner peace throughout the year. Give yourself permission to make mistakes, forgive yourself and move forward…this is gonna be your best year ever!! ∼K

* The Elderberry *

As November comes to an end, the cold long winter settles in for what seems like forever and it seems as though everyone around you has the dreaded two week cold. No one has time to be sick, especially parents. It’s in our best interest to begin early in the season with gentle preventives that go a long way to ensure a healthy immune response to all those prevalent “germs”.

Meet the humble Elderberry or Sambucus nigra

I prefer to use this berry in tea form because it is easier for my family. Alternatively, one can purchase the berries themselves either online or at the local healthy foods store.

You can order the tea through(( Vitacost )) which I have found to be the least expensive option.

A slightly bitter taste can be alleviated by adding enough sweetener. These little berries shine with both antioxidants and vitamin C. With regular use, one may notice a stronger immune response with less sniffles =] A very simple remedy.

There are several products containing elderberries such as Sambucol. They make a wonderful product, however for our family, it’s more cost effective to use the tea. Vitacost also carries their own brand which compares well to Sambucol and costs less =)

I’ve had such good results with this little purple berry, it’s our families go to tea for the cold/flu season. It mixes very well with juices so it’s easy to make a wellness punch by blending half elderberry tea (sweetened) and half juice such as apple, grape or cranberry…yummy =)

Try it and let me know how Elderberry works for your family…Cheers to Winter…*K

* Thirty Eight Years of Kristina *

November 22 is my day and the perfect time for me to reflect on the footsteps of my journey and  lay out my goals for the future.

Each year as I look back, I marvel in awe…thirty eight already..? I remember very well anxiously awaiting eighteen ;]

I no longer mind the passing of time and the inevitable aging that comes with each new year. I truly enjoy growing older and watching my lovely family grow along with me. Taking good care of my health and having a positive outlook on life have proved to be my best connections to the proverbial Fountain of Youth.

I’ve learned so much in my relatively short stay here on our planet earth. I love to read and explore all my interests until I’m exhausted an cannot possibly take in any more information. I’m self-taught in most aspects but  also love to be taught by the wise who have had the experiences before me. Age has no boundaries in learning. I have been taught lessons by the young and old alike. I’ve even learned great lessons from those I’m not particularly fond of, those are usually the harder ones =]

In growing older, I’ve learned to let go. I don’t have control of anything except my very own self. It makes life so much more enjoyable when you discover this small but significant detail, especially being a wife and mother. I don’t own their actions, I must simply teach by example and allow the rest to fall into it’s own place.

My focus has also narrowed as now I tend to direct my attention towards my home and family. In past years, my focus was more towards friends and outside influences. This shift made me much happier as I was fulfilling my purpose to my family. I am exactly where I belong at this moment in time. I’m happier…healthier and more me than I ever have been before =}

Cheers to thirty-eight…thank you for the memories thirty seven ❤

* Magnesium Miracle *

. . . . .When I experience something awesome and miraculous, the first thing I want to do is tell E V E R Y O N E especially when I realize the value in the information I’ve discovered through personal tragedy. This is such a recollection of an event that happened on Halloween of 2014 as we celebrated trick or treating with our four children, our six year old Pekingese mix was quietly suffering a seizure that eventually would claim her entire little body for the next five days.

  Mia has had seizures in the past stemming from the use of a bark collar {{which we will never use on her or another dog again!}} This time, things were much different. Realizing that my little dog was in a permanent seizure was absolutely terrifying and it took all I had to hold it together as I researched on every inch of the internet to find relevant information to aid in healing her. Reading about other dog owners going through the same thing with their beloved pups, I discovered a pattern of destructive nature…..dry food lacking essential nutrients. I dug further finding a doctor who ultimately helped me save my precious for legged furry. For that, I will be forever grateful ♥

Dr. Peter Tobias

This website is exactly what I needed at tis moment in time, you see, I’ve been noticing a decline in health for a few months not really knowing what was causing her fatigue. She had no interest in her doggie food (( Lamb & Rice, the most natural I could afford )) and there were days she didn’t even want water. Even though I noticed these tell-tale signs…..   I had no idea what was actually happening to my furry as she was slowly dying from mineral deficiency. I read through tears with my heart in my stomach as  sifted through Dr. Tobias’s well written information, he led me down the path I was meant to be traveling…the path to Our Best Health Ever!! Our whole family benefited from his very simple but often overlooked approach to holistic health.

Mia  was so sick. Her entire body was stiff and her mouth was clamped shut. Her legs couldn’t be bent, she couldn’t walk, her bladder and bowels just let go. The shine was gone from her eyes and her fur was brittle and dry. She shook uncontrollably and looked at me with a longing she couldn’t explain. I told her it was fine to go , thanked her for being such a good companion to our family for six years and that we all  loved her  so much. My tears poured down my face and soaked her fur, she didn’t move.

That night, as my sweet pup lay dying on my bed, I feverishly searched for something, anything that would help her, and believed I had found it though time was not on my side. Mia’s bowels had just let go, signaling her immanent departure from our lives.  =[                    I went the very next morning to our local Healthy Foods store and chose a liquid trace mineral supplement made by Source Naturals. I added those precious drops to a tincture bottle filled with warm water and began her therapy. Lifting her jowls and squeezing a few drops between her teeth. At first, the water just dripped back out the other side but as I kept trying, eventually she would swallow. With each passing hour I would give her as many drops as her little mouth would take. By the next morning, we were giving her a full 1 ounce at a time! She began liking the dropper with fervor and she could now lift her head, although she was still urinating herself, we were seeing a little light in her eyes.

We were in the midst of witnessing a miracle!! She slowly lifted her body off the couch as I approached her with the brown dropper bottle waiting eagerly between each filling until she finished a bottle at a time! Over the course of that day she began walking very slowly at first and asking to go outside for her duties =) Her little tired body was recovering right before our eyes….a miraculous recovery! Just 5 days after her near fateful stroke and for the first time in months I saw our dog act like a puppy again, energy abounding, eyes bright, coat shiny and soft and most importantly, her beautifully annoying bark returned with a new appreciation ♥

This is the link to purchase from *{{Vitacost }}* the best price I’ve found by far! If you create an account through this link, you’ll get $10 off your first $30 purchase….what a great deal!

mineralsHoping that you’ve found this information helpful….feel free to leave me a comment.

Best wishes on your journey to You Best Health Ever!!

Cheers . . . . . . . . . *K
